I'm really awkward in front of the camera. Like, SUPER DUPER AWKWAAARD. What will you do to ensure I'm comfortable during the shoot?
I totally get it. Sometimes I have no idea what to do with my face when a camera is on me! But don't worry. I got your back. =) I will help direct in the beginning to help you get comfortable and settle in. I use prompts to bring out your natural vibe. Maybe even throw in a joke here and there to help you laugh and lighten the time around. And if there are moments where you need to take a break from all the laughing, you're more than welcome to!
How do you handle delays or unexpected changes on a wedding day?
This is an important, yet often overlooked, question. Weddings can be unpredictable—things like hair and makeup delays, wardrobe issues, traffic, or even sudden weather changes can throw off the schedule. I completely understand how stressful it can feel when things don’t go as planned. I always approach such situations with calm and flexibility. I’ll check in with you, your wedding party, or emergency contacts to assess if we need to adjust the timeline. I’ll never leave your event until I’ve confirmed with you that we’ve covered all the key details we discussed beforehand. If spontaneous events occur, I'll be camera ready as long as I'm informed ahead of time by your supportive party or vendors. If extra time is needed, there may be additional hourly charges based on the changes to your timeline. However, if I only need to stay an extra 30 minutes or less, I won’t charge for this small adjustment. My priority is making sure you enjoy your day and have a stress-free, seamless experience.
What is your communication style like on a wedding day?
My communication style on a wedding day is clear, calm, and proactive. I understand that your wedding day can be fast-paced and filled with a lot of moving parts, so I aim to be a steady, reassuring presence. I’ll keep you informed at key moments, whether it’s about the timeline, any adjustments, or if I need something from you or your party. I’m always available to answer questions or address any concerns, but I do so in a way that allows you to focus on enjoying your day. I also believe in clear communication with all vendors and your wedding party to ensure everyone stays on track and the day runs smoothly. If there’s ever a need for more urgent decisions or changes, I’ll approach it with respect and sensitivity to your needs, ensuring you feel supported every step of the way.
What is your personality type? How would people often describe you?
I’ve been known to be the friendly neighbourhood weirdo by my friends, and have been called a "walking hug" by my mom lol! But on a more serious note, I approach each of my clients with the mindset that we’re building a new friendship. It’s all about having fun, being ourselves, and enjoying the moment while making sure everything goes smoothly. I bring compassion for the moments when things get overwhelming, patience when plans shift, and a genuine care for making sure your experience feels less like a photoshoot and more like you just being yourselves. My goal is to capture those candid, authentic moments, where it just happens to be me snapping the photos as you’re having a great time.
What is your stylistic approach for all your shoots?
I have a massive pet peeve against stiff, strictly posed photos. They're just really awkward and not pleasant-looking. A candid, natural aesthetic is at the heart of my photos and videos, allowing you to relive the true essence of how you felt in the moment. My creative approach focuses on capturing the authentic colors and emotions of your event, so you can remember not just how everything looked, but how it felt, all through your senses.
Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?
HELL TO THE YEEEE. Though I'm sad that this has to be asked because love is love, and love always wins. No shame or judgement here. All are welcome. =)
Do you shoot video too?
I definitely do! Matter of fact, I'm in love with both mediums! Unfortunately, I don't have octopus tentacles or else I'd do both at the exact same time. So if you want both services, we will need to discuss timing for me to shoot photo and video.
Do you work alone?
Majority of the time I do, or I'll bring my husband or a friend to help me assist for the slightly bigger shoots (within your comfort level of course). For bigger weddings, I have a second shooter available for those sweet, sweet additional angles. For hair/makeup/stylists, I do have some wonderful humans to come along for the ride if needed!
Can you remove all my skin imperfections, blemishes, slim my waist down, etc...?
I tend not to go overboard, as you are beautiful and will only do natural retouching cleanups/polishing. But if you'd like me to apply more retouching - especially with body slimming - let's discuss before the shoot so you know what to expect. I allow up to two retouching revisions per image.
Do you travel?
I'd love to! For shoots that are over 3+ hours away, I do require overnight accommodations. We can discuss prior to the shoot as the cost will vary per location/commute. For weddings/branding/misc. shoots outside of the province, we can discuss the details so I can provide the best personalized service possible. =)
